If you’ve been to Scruffy’s Irish Pub on Soi 94 the past three Thursdays it is very likely that you have seen, heard and experienced one of the finest new bands on the Hua Hin scene. The Sticky Cats are an amazing amalgamation of musicians from very diverse musical backgrounds that have come together to perform pop, rock, blues rock, soul, reggae, funk and R&B music on a “next level”.
The musicians consist of Marnie, a sprite of a lady who delivers her vocals with power and energy 5 times her size. She has been singing in Hua Hin in various incarnations of duo, trio, guest vocalist and also singing to “tracks” with instrumental accompaniment on guitar, saxophone and drums.
On guitar is Tor, one of the finest guitarists in Hua Hin if not all of Thailand. Tor’s experience as a blues, blues rock and hard rock guitarist allows him to bring a wide range styles, licks, riffs and techniques that are, at times, mesmerizing. At times he fills the room with a sonic barrage of tones and melodies and just as easily he can lay back and become one with his rhythm section.
And speaking of his rhythm section…Wow!! PJ on bass and Graf on drums is as solid as it gets. Solid as a rock! They have been playing in rock, blues, jazz, and R&B bands together for years. Tor currently plays with PJ in the rock band The Answer.

Rounding out the band is Chuy, Marnie’s longtime partner, on Saxophone. His repertoire of hot licks is endless and his timing with the rest of the band is spotless.
The material is strong from Dire Straits to James Brown to Bob Marley to Tina Turner. Marnie puts on a performance for every single song and in between. Tors incredible guitar work, the rhythm section of PJ and Graf and Chuy’s saxophone riffs make The Sticky Cats unique in Hua Hin. When you go to see them, be ready for 3 hours of pure entertainment.
