Hua Hin has added another achievement to its name – the seaside city has been honoured with the ASEAN Clean Air for Small Cities Award, celebrating its dedication to providing residents and visitors with a cleaner, healthier, and more enjoyable environment.
The award was presented during the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Environment, held in Langkawi, Malaysia in early September 2025. Hua Hin stood proudly alongside two other Thai cities, Thung Song (Nakhon Si Thammarat) and Pak Kret (Nonthaburi), as one of the few destinations in Thailand recognised for excellence in sustainable urban development.
A City That Breathes Fresh Air ✨
For Mayor Nopporn Wuttikul, this recognition is more than just a trophy—it’s proof of what can be achieved when a community works together. From local organisations and municipal teams to everyday residents, everyone has played a part in ensuring Hua Hin remains a place where fresh air, a clean environment, and a high quality of life go hand in hand.
This achievement also reassures international travellers that Hua Hin isn’t just about beaches, golf courses, and seafood—it’s also a city committed to sustainable living and protecting the natural beauty that makes it so attractive.

Why This Matters for Visitors 🌍
The award is part of the ASEAN Environmentally Sustainable Cities (ESC) programme, which highlights destinations that lead by example in environmental care. For Hua Hin, being recognised in the Clean Air for Small Cities category means visitors can enjoy a healthier atmosphere while exploring its temples, lively markets, and stunning coastline.
With this recognition, Hua Hin further cements its reputation as a quality travel destination that balances modern tourism with long-term sustainability—making it an even more appealing choice for eco-conscious travellers.
Thailand’s Green Champions 🌱
While Hua Hin was spotlighted for its clean air initiatives, Thung Song was celebrated for its impressive green spaces and biodiversity, while Pak Kret gained recognition for its smart resource management and climate resilience planning.
Together, these awards show that Thailand is moving towards greener, cleaner, and more sustainable cities—great news for both locals and travellers.
